Our Island - Soft play mat has a hemisphere - an "island" covered with massage tips that stimulate the muscles of the feet. If you stand in the middle of the island, it perfectly copies the arch of a healthy foot.
You can also stand with both feet on the semi-sphere with feet shoulder-width apart with feet on the sides off the island, imagine a “bear on a ball”.
Standing on the inner edge of the feet observed in Valgus orientation (knees pointing inwards and legs creating an X, “knock Knee”) island will promote supporting the body on outward edges of the feet.
Legs with Valgus (X-type) form at knee joints will gradually transfer to O-type when standing on the island.
Exercise on island will also strengthen the muscles and ligaments of ankle joints and calves by stimulating the plantar muscles, activating the reflexology areas of the foot, decreasing tiredness and improving the blood circulation.
These childrens orthopedic play mats are modular and should be used as a puzzle, just like a giant jigsaw, so you are able to join as many of these mats together as you like and in different configurations.
All of our childrens orthopedic play mats have compact non-slip structure, it is made of a hygienic easy to wash and sanitise material.
