What are the benefits of sensory outdoor play?

There are a whole host of benefits that come hand in hand with outdoor sensory play, especially if your child suffers from conditions such as ADHD, SPD and Autism. This is becuae sensory play can optimise cognitive development by significantly increasing brain function, improving emotional regulation and of course, heightening ability to process new information and learn.

Playing outdoors also allows children to gain self-confidence, explore and learn about new surroundings, develop physical skills, increase gross motor skills and increase flexibility.

Spring time is the perfect time to get out in the garden and prepare it for the warmer months ahead. As well as teaching your favourite humans key valuable skills, planting flowers, sprinkling water, playing in dirt, pulling out weeds and watching seeds grow offer the ultimate sensory experiences.
